Fishing Schedule

Alaska Helicopter Fishing

All our fishing trips begin early Sunday morning with a flight from Anchorage to Talaheim. Our trips end on Saturday evening after a days fishing. Flights from Talaheim back to Anchorage are around 5pm.

2026 will be my 50th season at Talaheim Lodge. I plan on taking just four guests per week for three weeks each year. The last week of July and first two weeks of August. Next summer (2026) will be the first summer of my semi-retirement. We have a staff of four, great personal attention and you will enjoy the same great service as in prior years. I will be personally managing the lodge, do support flying in supplies, and I have a younger helicopter pilot who has flown for me for years taking over most of that flying.

I am full for 2026, but I am booking for 2027

We limit our guests to 8 per week. If you have a group larger than 8, please reach out to the host for options.

TESTIMONIALS

We can’t thank you enough for making this such a special week for my dad and I. It was wonderful to re-visit fishing together – which we haven’t done since I was a small girl. And I can’t thank the guides enough for their astute and patient lessons teaching me to fly fish! Also, big thanks to Katiri, Jana, and Melli and Bayard for making the week so awesome. Great food and incredible flights! Finally, huge thanks to Mark for making this all possible. You all are welcome in Vermont or Nashville anytime.

It’s rare that an angler gets to come to a place where the fishing is exceeded by the hospitality and camaraderie. I am humbled by the warmth and affection that Mark, Felicia, and their extended family of fly fishing experts and hosts have shown us all week. To top it off, the helicopter journeys all over the area, especially to the glacier, was better than dreams of fishing.
